BRING YOUR OWN BAG in Temple Terrace

 

Initiated by the Green Party of Florida and neighborhood groups in Temple Terrace, we invite you to join our campaign “Bring Your Own Bag” for the month of July 2015.

 

Our goal is to keep Florida clean from the litter of plastic bags. Our beaches and sea life suffer from the pollution of plastic bags and its debris which is not always visible to our eyes, because only 30% of plastic debris stays afloat while 70% sinks to the ocean floor.

 

 

Plastic bag are used on average for 20 minutes before being thrown away. They are not accepted for curbside recycling which is why 82% of plastic bags end up in landfills or in our water ways. What a waste!

 

The only law for plastic bags we have in Florida is a prohibition to any city to regulate or prohibit plastic bags!

 

We can do better - commit now to bringing your own reusable bags for the month of July 2015 (who knows you might get used to it and continue it even longer).

 

Help keep Florida's beaches and water ways clean.

 

Bring your own bag for shopping or at the very least – ask for paper.

 

PLASTIC IS NOT OK!
